There are 1,948 registered healing mineral springs in Slovakia. As part of our series, we are featuring nine of the 20 spa resorts operating in Slovakia. Today, after Piešťany, Trenčianske Teplice, and Bardejov, we move on to Rajecké Teplice. In terms of population, it is the fourth-smallest town in Slovakia, but the popularity of its spa extends far beyond the Žilina Region.
The fifth round of the Living Water competition was prepared by our colleague from the Spanish section, Mária Mangová, who is a native of the Rajec Valley. She recalls how much she enjoyed the hours spent waiting on the platform of the local bus station, when only the occasional person would appear. Thirty years ago, however, everything changed radically.
