The 28th edition of the Four Elements Summer Film Festival opens on Thursday in the historic mining town of Banská Štiavnica.
Running until Sunday, the festival will present more than twenty feature films, documentaries and experimental productions, all linked by this year's theme - Generations.
The programme explores relationships between generations from different perspectives. Highlights include the Slovak premiere of the Brazilian drama Malu, following three generations of women in one family, and the Polish coming-of-age film Ministrants, about a group of altar boys confronting injustice in their local church.
Alongside film screenings, the festival also offers workshops for children and a range of accompanying events.
