Slovakia has not yet announced any specific assistance to Spain, which is currently dealing with increased migration pressure from Africa.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Matej Neumann told TASR that the situation has not led to a rise in illegal migration affecting Slovakia. He noted that the European Union is monitoring developments in the Spanish enclave of Ceuta and has expressed its readiness to assist Spain through Frontex and other European mechanisms.
Neumann also pointed to EU legislation that allows member states to activate temporary solidarity measures during migration crises. He stressed that Slovakia has several options should the situation worsen, but any response would depend on whether migration pressure spreads further across Europe.
According to the Interior Ministry, recent events in Ceuta have not resulted in an increase in illegal migration or migrant apprehensions in Slovakia, and no extraordinary measures have been introduced.
