The Slovak Film and Television Academy announced the 2025 Slnko v sieti awards in Bratislava, with Otec (Father) emerging as the top winner. The film took Best Film prize along with awards for directing, cinematography, original score and best actor. The film Potopa (Flood) won the most awards overall, including screenplay, sound, best actress, supporting actor and the audience award for most popular Slovak film. Nepela, which had the highest number of nominations with 13, secured three awards for editing, costumes and visual effects.
In television and documentary categories, Moloch was named best TV production. A lifetime achievement award was presented to Zuzana Gindl-Tatárová, founder of the awards, for her outstanding contribution to Slovak audiovisual culture. Despite the current difficult times in culture and criticism, this was an evening full of celebration of great Slovak achievements on the silver screen.
