Foreigners who are interested in activating a personal security code (BOK) on their residence document do not have to process this request exclusively at foreign police departments. Since police officers at these workplaces are registering increased interest in the aforementioned service and longer waiting times, BOK activation can also be processed at document departments at district headquarters of the Police Force, as well as in client centers of district offices throughout Slovakia.
"In this way, it is possible to distribute the number of applications more effectively and significantly shorten the waiting time. The Police Force also recommends that all foreigners check the available dates and reservation requirements via the official website of the Ministry of the Interior before visiting a specific workplace," Zuzana Hrabovská from the Department of Communication and Prevention of the Presidium of the Police Force specified.
The police recommend that holders of documents with activated BOK use the available electronic services of the state. "We would like to point out that for the full use of electronic services, it is necessary for the foreigner to activate a qualified electronic signature (KEP) via the portal www.slovensko.sk after activating the BOK," added Hrabovská.
