The Tatra National Park (TANAP) urges visitors from areas affected by the foot-and-mouth disease virus to reconsider their visit during the current outbreak. In a message shared on social media, TANAP highlights that foot-and-mouth disease is a highly contagious virus that affects both domestic and wild animals. Domestic pets, such as dogs, can act as carriers and may unknowingly spread the virus into the wild. For this reason, TANAP especially appeals to visitors from affected areas who are accompanied by dogs to reconsider their visit and strictly follow all hygiene measures.
