The government has temporarily closed 16 border crossings with Hungary and one with Austria due to foot-and-mouth disease. Temporary checks are in place at remaining crossings until May 7. Authorities urge drivers to follow traffic signs and temporary restrictions to avoid accidents. The decision was made after exhausting other control measures in the Slovak-Hungarian-Austrian border area.
