The Slovakia is Europe protests continued in Slovak cities on Friday, February 7th, the Mier Ukrajine (Peace for Ukraine) Association reported. The organizers emphasized at the beginning of the protest that it was a purely civic event and that they distanced themselves from any political activities.
They expressed their desire for Slovakia to remain in the European Union, followed by a joint statement from the protest organizers, which was read at all protest gatherings. They also highlighted the growing aggression and disorder in society, pointing to Slovakia’s decline in several key indicators. In their view, this decline and disruption are being felt throughout the country.
The organizers called on the Prime Minister to govern transparently, uphold the law, and respect the independence of institutions. They urged the government and high-ranking officials to reject cooperation with Russia, stop attacking Ukraine, and halt efforts to change Slovakia's foreign policy direction. Additionally, they called for Robert Fico’s resignation.
The protests are set to continue 21 February.
