Slovakia is interested in taking an active part in the reconstruction of Ukraine, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Kmec (Hlas-SD), who will take part in the fourth summit of the European political community at Blenheim Palace in Britain on Thursday.
“Slovakia, as Ukraine’s neighbour, has an important position as a bridge between Ukraine and the EU, which is why our goal is also to promote connectivity, especially by investing in infrastructure and energy in eastern Slovakia,” Kmec said, adding that Slovakia’s involvement in Ukraine’s reconstruction is an opportunity to promote mutual development and stability in the entire region. The Deputy Prime Minister said that a new and comprehensive pan-European migration policy requires a holistic approach, based on best practices such as “strengthening the protection of external borders, effective cooperation with countries of origin and transit, and the fight against trafficking in human beings”.
