Slovakia offers Ukraine its first hand reforms and integration experiences

State Secretary of the Slovak Foreign Ministry Peter Burian and his counterparts from Visegrad 4 countries visited Lviv, Ukraine on Monday and Tuesday.

The working visit was initiated by the Slovak V4 Presidency and featured talks with Ukrainian representatives on the ongoing reform processes in Ukraine and opportunities for coordinating the approach of the V4 countries in transferring their transformation and integration experiences. “You have a serious partner in us, as we have a sincere interest in helping the Ukrainian move toward Europe – as Ukrainians have voted for. We offer you our first hand reform and integration experiences, from which you could draw on in overcoming the onerous challenges ahead of you, including implementation of the recently ratified Association Agreement,” was the State Secretary Burian's offer to his Ukrainian counterparts. During the talks, Ukrainian counterparts highly appreciated the ongoing support of the V4 countries. They also highlighted the interest in addressing such issues as restoring infrastructure, opening border crossings and cross-border cooperation.
