Political scientist Abraham: President's speech about bringing society together

According to political scientist Samuel Abraham the first speech of President Peter Pellegrini sounded rather conservative and lacked a more pronounced address to women and members of minorities.

Abraham pointed out that the new head of state talked a lot about family. "However, we know that there are hundreds of thousands of people in Slovakia who are divorced, who are not in a family union or who are of a different orientation," he added.

The political scientist pointed out that besides the assassination attempt on the premier, Pellegrini didn't mention some events with a political background, for example, the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak or the shooting on Zamocka Street in Bratislava. "They would also deserve to be mentioned," he added.
