Confidence in Slovak judiciary remains low

In a comparative overview of countries in the EU published the year by the European Commission, Slovakia ranks last in perceptions of independence in its own judiciary. This means that, while marginally improving over last year, Slovakia is the least trustful of its judiciary compared with all other EU nations.

The Ministry of Justice pointed out that Slovakia fell to 18th place in aspects of the digitization of the judiciary, especially when it comes to the use of artificial intelligence or interactive applications. "The previous government had a great chance to use the funds to modernize the judiciary both in the field of digitization and in the field of material and technical equipment. (...) Nevertheless, we will do everything to ensure better access to justice for citizens and strengthen trust in the judiciary," stated Justice Minister Boris Susko.
