After a ten day visit to the United States has ended, with President Andrej Kiska returning to Slovakia after his longest official state visit so far. Starting on the 23 September he has taken time to visit both coasts, but has not only been concentrating on politics, but also the overall theme of economic ties.
Opening the tour was at the home of the UN in New York to look at bilateral relations. The president in this city also was at the Central European Digital Forum. Then a trip to the world renowned university the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), as well as the Cambridge Innovation Centre, his last port of call was the 37th Annual Slovak Heritage Festival in New Jersey. There was of course also time for visits to the White House, and meeting American President Barack Obama and meetings with his office, the Foreign Minister of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák was also present on the trip and was involved in meetings with American delegates.
