A proposed TV series about the murder of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée will be considered for co-financing at a European forum in France.
The series called ‘Our People’ is put forward by production company Nutprodukcia. It was chosen as one of 16, from a total of 430 submissions from all over the world.
The so-called Series Mania Forum is a place where European film makers pitch projects to financiers and broadcasters. This year’s meeting will take place in March in Lille, in France.
"I am extremely happy to be selected mainly because we have a chance to find foreign partners who are not burdened by fear," said the director Tereza Nvotová. She added that they have not yet found a TV partner for the project in Slovakia.
The series will show previously undisclosed circumstances of the case, says writer Miro Sifra. "Everyone in Slovakia feels that they already know the whole story, but that is not the case. We found new information in the file and after talking to the closest people, which changed my perspective on the whole case," he said. (TASR)
