The prosecutor general responded to the president

Section 363 of the Penal Code is already controversial at the highest level. Prosecutor General Maroš Žilinka criticised President Zuzana Čaputová's move as tendentious. She has asked the Constitutional Court to interpret the constitution because the Prosecutor General has not provided her with information on the section. In her submission to the Constitutional Court last week, the President expressed her belief that the Prosecutor General has a duty to assist her without undue delay. Zilinka claims that he asked to see the President in person following her request, but did not receive a response. He noted that he had never made a decision based on the provisions of Section 363 regarding the name, surname and status of the person being prosecuted.

“I believe that the proposal is intentional and that the dispute over the interpretation of the provisions of the Constitution has been falsely created. This is just a continuation of the long-standing pressure to question and discredit the person of the Prosecutor General.”

In the official statement, the head of state says that her intention is not about personal disputes, but is substantive, constitutional and legal, and can help clarify relations in the future.
