Popular musician Vaso Patejdl dies aged 68

Patejdl was a composer, arranger, singer and keyboard player. Music journalist Rado Messa describes him as the biggest hitmaker in the former Czechoslovakia: "He was active since the end of the 1970s and he soon managed to create a signature style. His studies of classical music definitely helped him reach further in his creative endeavours."
 
Vašo Patejdl will also be remembered for his film soundtracks and musicals. Choreographer and director Jan Durovcik: "He achieved worldwide fame that no other Slovak has ever achieved - his musical Jack the Ripper was performed in Tokyo and Korea."
