On Monday, the government approved its Manifesto. It will now submit it to the National Council of the Slovak Republic and ask for parliament's confidence. The Smer-SD party won't support the caretaker government's manifesto. Smer-SD leader Robert Fico believes that the document only proves that the current cabinet has been tasked with saving the failed government coalition and at the same time helping to put Progressive Slovakia in the spotlight. According to him, the fundamental problem of today's Slovakia is the enormous rise in prices. However, he noted that this problem has received only one fleeting sentence from the government. The extra-parliamentary party HLAS-SD called the government manifesto of Ludovit Odor standard, but it lacks concrete solutions to the crisis situation in local government, health care and the fight against food prices, party spokeswoman Patricia Medved Macikova told TASR on Monday. She added that Hlas-SD MPs won't support it in a vote of confidence in parliament. Peter Pellegrini noted that he expected specific measures in the health sector in connection with the risk of losing funds from the Recovery plan, especially in connection with the construction of hospitals. Pellegrini praised efforts to increase benefits for the disabled and to help children and the poor fight rising food and energy prices. However, he said the manifesto lacked systemic measures to fight rising prices.
The Za ľudí party will not support the government manifesto of Prime Minister Ludovit Odor. The party says the Prime Minister should rethink his priorities, as it considers it impossible to support a cabinet that wants to cut approved aid to the people during inflation. They consider it irresponsible and insensitive. The independent members of the National Council, who are part of the extra-parliamentary Democrats party, will support Prime Minister Ludovit Odor's manifesto and give the cabinet a vote of confidence. This was announced by Demokrati or Democrats leader and former Prime Minister Eduard Heger at a press conference on Tuesday. "The document reflects the continuity of the reforms, investments and programmes that our government has promoted, introduced and implemented," Heger said. He cited the fact that the Cabinet is also building its agenda on the Recovery and Resilience Plan as another reason for the experts' support for the government. He emphasised that Odor's cabinet is pro-Western and has the ambition to prepare a realistic budget. He also appreciated the emphasis on innovation or support for vulnerable groups. Another reason for confidence in the government, according to Heger, is the cabinet's limited powers if it does not win the vote of confidence. He considers it unnecessary for it to lose more powers. Heger also announced that his MPs would not support “toxic proposals" and various "atomic bombs'' in the June session of the National Assembly. The independent MPs pointed to the impact on the state budget, but also on the environment and other affected sectors.
Igor Matovic the leader of the OLANO party does not like the fact that Ludovit Odor did not send them the government's programme statement at least one day in advance. He announced it on Radio Express. According to the head of OLANO, this is proof that the Prime minister does not even want trust. According to Matovic, the manifesto proves that this is not a government of experts. Branislav Grohling from the SAS party confirmed in the TA3 discussion that the party will support the government's manifesto.
