Poll reveals most trusted politicians

Former Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, now leader of the extra-parliamentary Hlas-SD party, is viewed as the most trusted political leader in Slovakia, enjoying the confidence of 42 percent of the respondents questioned by Focus agency as opposed to 56 percent of those who distrust him.
Ex-premier and OLANO leader Igor Matovic is the most distrusted politician as he received the confidence of 8 percent and is seen as untrustworthy by 91 percent.
According to the survey, which was carried out for private TV channel Markiza, the second most trusted politician is President Zuzana Caputova, who received the confidence of 39 percent and who is seen as untrustworthy by 60 percent. Caputova was followed by MP and opposition Smer-SD leader Robert Fico, who enjoys confidence from 33 percent and is distrusted by 66 percent.
Parliamentary Chair and Sme Rodina leader Boris Kollar came fourth (trusted by 27 percent, distrusted by 71 percent), followed by leader of the extra-parliamentary Republic party and MEP Milan Uhrik (trusted by 26 percent, distrusted by 58 percent).
Also making it to the list was extra-parliamentary Slovak National Party (SNS) leader Andrej Danko (trusted by 24 percent, distrusted by 72 percent), head of the non-parliamentary Christian Democrats (KDH) Milan Majersky (trusted by 20 percent, distrusted by 55 percent), leader of another extra-parliamentary party Progressive Slovakia Michal Simecka (trusted by 19 percent, distrusted by 54 percent), interim Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLANO - trusted by 19 percent, distrusted by 80 percent).
MP and SaS head Richard Sulik is trusted by 17 percent and distrusted by 82 percent, and is followed by interim Investments Minister and Za Ludi leader Veronika Remisova (trusted by 14 percent, distrusted by 83 percent), LSNS chairman Marian Kotleba (trusted by 12 percent, distrusted by 85 percent), and head of the extra-parliamentary ethnic-Hungarian Alliance party Krisztian Forro (trusted by 11 percent, distrusted by 46 percent).
Focus agency conducted the poll between February 1-8 on a sample of 1,017 respondents. (TASR)
