Miroslav Kollár, the only MP for the Spolu party and also its chair will not support the ouster of the government. Kollár also said he does not want to help the return of former three-time PM Robert Fico (Smer-SD), the mafia and extremists. Kollár also said he sees the proposal of the vote of confidence in the government by the Sloboda a Solidarita party (SaS) , which left the coalition this autumn as an irresponsible gamble with the country's future.
He announced his stance following its party congress on Saturday attended also by the PM Eduard Heger and former two time PM Mikuláš Dzurinda, who announced he wants to form new political subject. He also said that the Spolu party, led by Kollár has its place in the project. The Sloboda a Solidarita (SaS) commented Kollár’s stance as a political game.
“It is not clear at all what is to happen the day after the possible ouster of the government," said Kollár. If the government falls without knowing what the next steps will be, it will be the responsibility of those who made the proposal. The Spolu head also added that democracy is under threat as extremism and populism are growing stronger. "These words are accurate, but the Spolu leader forgot to name what is the cause of them - namely the current government,” said SaS chair Richard Sulík. He added that “it is thanks to the governance of Igor Matovič (Ordinary People) with Boris Kollár (Sme rodina) and the watching Prime Minister Eduard Heger (Ordinary People) that the power of Robert Fico (Smer-SD) and extremists is growing stronger," stated Sulík.
Sulík suggested the reconstruction of the government as one of the options after the ousting of the current cabinet. Miroslav Kollár pointed out that if SaS wanted the reconstruction they should have filed a proposal to oust specific ministers, for example, Finance Minister Igor Matovič (Ordinary people). On the other hand, PM Eduard Heger of Obyčajní ľudia party called the option of the reconstruction unrealistic. Heger said that it is nonsense to change the government at the time of the energy crisis. "There is a big threat and risk, if someone wants to change the government now, we can talk about it calmly in the spring," he pointed out, adding that the current government is helping the people.
Furthermore, the Spolu leader Kollár is ready to negotiate on the support of the budget in the event that the problem with spending limits is resolved in it in such a way that the drawing of funds from the recovery plan and the sustainability of public finances are not threatened.
