Matej Valuch (26) was today unveiled at a press conference of the Slovak Foreign Ministry, after spending months incarcerated in Tehran for suspected espionage. "It is such a great feeling to hear again Slovak language and to see Bratislava Castle" he said as he also talked of his arrival.
"I can’t wait to enjoy some home cooking. They must know why they took me; I was working in Iran as a head-hunter after working as such in Slovakia and Budapest." He was released just two days ago (6/2/2013) in the late hours, to begin the paperwork for his eventual travel back to Slovakia. He flew home the next day. Foreign Minister did not want to be drawn on the circumstances around his release. "I think it would be unwise to comment further at this stage. The case is so fresh, and Iran is a real country, to dwell on the details would only complicate Matej’s situation, and any further dialogue with the country."
