Survey: Majority of Slovaks disagree with vaccination lottery

According to the latest 'How Are You, Slovakia?' survey, the majority of Slovaks do not agree with the COVID-19 vaccination lottery, but those who do like the idea are often people who aim to have themselves vaccinated in the near future. When asked about their approval of the lottery, 24.3 percent of the respondents claimed that they support it, while 64.1 percent stated that they disagree with the idea and 11.6 percent did not provide their opinion. Meanwhile, 57.9 percent of those who did support it want to have themselves vaccinated. Only 6.8 percent of those respondents who refuse to get inoculated stated that the lottery could change their opinion.

"The vaccination lottery and special bonuses can persuade only a small portion of those who completely refuse to be vaccinated. However, it should be noted that vaccine refusers would be significantly more likely - more than twice as likely - to be persuaded if they could be vaccinated by their general practitioner," stated Barbara Lasticova of the Slovak Academy of Sciences' (SAV) Institute for Research on Social Communication.
