Slovakia has donated 10,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine against coronavirus to the Czech Republic. Vaccines that will not be used for inoculation in Slovakia will be sold or donated to other countries. Excess Sputnik V vaccine has been sold, too, Health Ministry Spokesperson informed on Thursday. EU leaders have committed themselves to share at least 100 million vaccine doses with third countries within the COVAX initiative by the end of this year. According to current assumptions, the European Union should have a surplus of vaccines in the second half of 2021, which applies to all member states. Therefore, Slovakia as an EU member needs to fulfil its duties towards the international community.
