“Vaccination” law greenlighted by Parliament, opposition ready to challenge it

In the event of a threat to public health, the Public Health Office will be able to take into account a digital COVID pass when creating anti-pandemic measures. On Sunday, Parliament approved the draft law on the protection, support and development of public health. In the event of a worsened epidemic situation, the amendment allows health officials to impose a temporary condition of entry into facilities and mass events with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate, confirmation of overcoming the disease or a negative test result. The opposition Smer-SD insists on the unconstitutionality of the amendment and the party leader Robert Fico called on President Zuzana Čaputová to veto the bill. Opposition MPs will also challenge the law at the Constitutional Court.
