Claims that the Government is entertaining the idea of mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 are disinformation, Health Minister Vladimír Lengvarský (OLaNO nominee) stated in Parliament on Thursday. Various opposition MPs as well as representatives of the junior governing coalition party "We are family" claimed that the introduction of more favourable conditions at the borders for those vaccinated were a form of imposing mandatory vaccination. Head of the "We Are Family" party Boris Kollar announced on Friday that his party has blocked a Government-approved amendment to the law on the protection, support and development of public health that aims to give more freedom to individuals who've been vaccinated against COVID-19 or those who have themselves tested prior to entering restaurants or making use of various services.
The chair of the parliamentary caucus of the largest coalition party OlaNO, Michal Šipoš said he was saddened by seeing coalition partner 'We Are Family' "beginning to mislead" the public and "succumb to the pressure from the antivaxers".
