Total of 15,681 Slovaks interested in being vaccinated with Sputnik V

A total of 15,681 Slovaks have expressed interest in receiving the Russian-made Sputnik V vaccine, according to the data of the Health Ministry's analytical department. Most of them (2,511) come from the Bratislava region. In terms of age, the largest number of people are in the 45-49 age group. In March the Slovak Governemnt bought 200,000 doses of the Russian-made vaccine with then Prime Minister Igor Matovič claiming a high interest rate among Slovaks for it despite not being registered in the European Union.. On June 23^rd the Government decided in favour of the sale and donation of the unused Russian vaccine based on bilateral agreements with third countries, mainly Western Balkans countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Albania. Argentina also showed an interest in Sputnik V.
