Travel traffic lights system approved by experts, yet to be okayed by Gov't

Slovakia's council of experts approved the introduction of a travel traffic lights system, announced Foreign Ministry state secretary Martin Klus on Thursday, 20 May. The system will divide countries into three groups and will serve as an indicator showing whether it is recommended or not to travel to a particular country. According to Klus, the travel traffic lights should take effect as of next Thursday (May 27) at the latest, with the fewest restrictions applying to other EU countries. However, it has yet to be approved by the Government.

According to Health Ministry spokesperson Zuzana Eliasova, the final and comprehensive information about the travel traffic lights system will be provided to the public only once the system is approved by the Government.
