Relatives of health professionals who have died of COVID-19 after becoming infected at work should receive compensation amounting to €58,712.30 from the state, in line with draft legislation approved by the Cabinet and aimed at amending certain health-care laws in connection with the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
The spouse and children of a deceased healthcare professional, or his or her parents, should be entitled to a one-off compensation. It concerns those health professionals in the territory of Slovakia who provided or ensured health care, nursing care in social services facilities or in social protection facilities, or those who worked as pathologists or ambulance drivers.
