Wearing FFP2 respirators in interiors becomes obligatory

As of Monday, people in Slovakia are obliged to wear protective respirators without an exhale valve with a minimum FFP2 classification in all interiors excluding their homes. According to the Public Health Authority, even the masks marked KN95 or N95 can be used. The credibility of the respirator can be quickly verified according to the CE marking, followed by a four-digit number. In exteriors, it is still possible to have the upper respiratory tract covered not only with such a respirator but also with a scarf or other covers made of fabric. Children studying at the first level of elementary schools are exempted from the obligation to wear a respirator; however, they need to wear a fabric face mask, scarf or other fabric face covering. This exception applies to persons in custody or serving a sentence in the facilities of the Prison and Judicial Guard Corps, as long as they are located in its premises.
