Health Minister: COVID-19 growth curve broken in Slovakia

The situation concerning coronavirus in Slovakia has slightly improved in the past seven days, with the growth curve being broken now and the number of people in hospital with COVID-19 being something above 4,000, said Health Minister Marek Krajčí (OLANO) at a press conference on Tuesday. The number of daily deaths related to COVID-19 is slightly above 100. The reproduction number is around 0.95-1. "There's an expectation of a gradual improvement of the epidemic situation," he said, adding that this is due to the observance of anti-covid measures by the public and ongoing vaccination.

At the same time, Krajčí stated that in the case of difficulties with registration for COVID-19 testing via the korona.gov.sk webpage, people can come to testing sites anyway and healthcare professionals should be able to perform the testing.
