EMA receives request to review Sputnik V

On Thursday, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) received an official request from the producer of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine to initiate a rolling review of the vaccine, which should speed up the assessment of the vaccine. Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok welcomes the request adding that he thinks that the "discussion on principles" in Slovakia also contributed to this step. Kirill Dmitriev, Chief Executive Officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund said that Russia could supply Sputnik V vaccines to 50 million people in the EU by June.
