The epidemic situation in the country has slightly worsened since last week, Health Minister Marek Krajčí reported on Tuesday. According to the health minister, the basic reproduction number (R0) of the novel coronavirus currently stands between 1 and 1.05. Krajčí noted in this regard that the mobility of people has increased since the beginning of this year, remarking that a considerable part of the population hasn't been properly observing anti-virus measures.
The average number of daily deaths from and with COVID-19 is now 124. On the brighter side, the number of vaccinated people has been on the rise. Krajčí also announced that Poland has offered to admit 200 Slovak COVID-19 patients. Similar aid has also been offered by Germany.
