Slovakia orders 35m nasal self-test kits

Slovakia has ordered 35 million antigen nasal self-test kits, said Health Minister Marek Krajčí on Tuesday (March 2), adding that they are on the way to the country at the moment. Krajčí has asked the Office for Standardisation, Metrology and Testing to issue a permit for this type of test kit, which was procured by the European Commission. "When the test kits arrive, it will mean a huge change in Slovakia's testing strategy," said Krajčí.

The health minister said that he purchased the kits at "a reasonable price", specifying €3.50 per test kit from Siemens and €3.70 per piece from SD Biosensor. The test kits should be used for testing at schools and in households.
