Last year’s mass-testing cost €119.89 million

Last year's nationwide mass testing of the population with antigen tests cost the state coffers €119.89 million, according to the press department of the Ministry of Finance (MF) as quoted by the TASR press agency. Almost half of this sum was spent on buying tests and other materials used in the process of testing as such, while €550,800 was spent on printing certificates showing the test results and handed to those tested. The Army and the Interior Ministry spent €16.7 million paying their staff involved in the mass-testing. The rest was allocated to the various authorities involved. The nationwide mass-testing took place in the autumn of 2020.
