The Slovak Retail Association has called for all stores - those selling both food and non-food - to be reopened under strict hygiene conditions for example one customer per 15 square metres, its president Martin Katriak said on Monday. Two months ago they filed a motion with the Prosecutor-General's (PG) Office concerning a Public Health Office (UVZ) regulation that allowed people who are isolated with coronavirus to go shopping. The PG's Office filed a protest against the regulation, while the Public Health Office defends its regulation.
The Association leaders call for retail employees to be included in critical infrastructure as are farmers, who were included by Parliament a few weeks ago. They add that the special shopping hours for pensioners from 9 to 11am should be scrapped, as these hours are poorly used.
