The coronavirus strain discovered in the UK gaining ground in Bratislava

Following mass COVID-19 testing last weekend, the City of Bratislava reported on Thursday that the British mutated strain of the virus had gained a strong presence in the capital. The city, which had positive antigen samples retested with PCR tests and then with specific tests for determining coronavirus strains, found that the British mutation was present in 85 percent of the 27 samples selected. The Bratislava City Council admits that the sample they inspected is not large. However, it corresponds to the composition of the society within the city. The infected were tested at different times, they were of different ages and also from different parts of the city, therefore not coming from the same source of outbreak. The municipality forwarded its findings to the scientific community, epidemiologists as well as the government.
