Negative test will not be required for work in less affected areas

As of Monday, February 8, when the so-called COVID-19 automaton starts regulating the anti-pandemic measures in Slovakia, a negative test for coronavirus will not be necessary for people going to work in 'red' and 'pink' districts. At the same time, this obligation will still be in place for staff in services, said Health Minister Marek Krajči (OĽaNO) at a press conference on Wednesday. Regular testing of employees will be mandatory in 'black' and 'dark red' districts. Moreover, as of next week, the Labour Ministry, in cooperation with labour inspectorates, wants to check whether employers have allowed their staff to work from home when the nature of their work makes this possible. Labour Minister Milan Krajniak (We Are Family) said that many people have contacted the ministry with complaints that their employers were not allowing them to work from home even though the work that they do makes this possible. Inspections will not be carried out in the form of raids; the ministry wants to examine motions filed by the public, said Krajniak. At the same time, he declined to comment on the penalties to be levied for violating this regulation. He only said that there are exact procedures regarding this situation.
