AstraZeneca to provide fewer vaccine doses, these will be reserved for chronically ill

AstraZeneca will deliver fewer vaccines than promised and contracted. According to Health Minister Marek Krajči it will not be 58,000 doses as previously contracted, since the information about deliveries changes every day and the promised numbers are decreasing. Nonetheless, the Minister added that the coronavirus vaccine produced by AstraZeneca could be used in Slovakia to inoculate employees of critical infrastructure as well as chronically ill people younger than 55. According to the minister, the first batch of the vaccine could arrive in Slovakia on February 9.
