The Government recommends that people should wear respirators in interior public premises, on public transport vehicles and in shops in light of the British mutated strain of novel coronavirus. This recommendation has been added to the COVID-19 automaton, which will regulate the anti-pandemic measures in Slovakia as of Monday, February 8. "If a respirator is worn correctly and adheres to the face tightly, it's 98-percent effective. If someone enters premises in which they might encounter an infected person, a respirator can protect them reliably," stated the Health Minister Marek Krajči (OĽaNO), noting that ordinary face masks might not provide the necessary protection against the British strain of the virus.
