As of December 21st until further notice, all travellers coming to Slovakia from the United Kingdom and those who had visited it in the past 14 days prior to entering Slovakia MUST self-quarantine and wait to be tested in Slovakia. Entrance based on a PCR test done abroad is NOT ACCEPTED anymore for these travellers, the Slovak Public Health Office announced late on Sunday night. Before entering Slovakia they must register at korona.gov.sk/en/ehranica , self-quarantine and wait to be tested not earlier than the 5th day after registration.
They must be able to show a proof of registration to border police if asked. The measure comes in reaction to reports of a new more contagious strain of Sars-CoV-2 virus spreading in the UK.
From midnight, Slovakia bans flights from the UK. "The ban will be provisionally applied for 72 hours," said Transport and Construction Minister Andrej Doležal on Monday. It applies to civil flights and it does not apply to air cargo, humanitarian flights or ambulance flights authorized by the competent authority.
