Health Minister: We have over 3.5m antigen tests

Slovakia has more than 3.5 million antigen tests, and enough PCR tests, according to Health Minister Marek Krajči (OLaNO). Speaking after the Government meeting on Monday he said, however, that there are currently not enough tests for mass- testing similar to the one that took place at the end of October. Antigen tests should be used for those groups that need it most, such as health professionals, elderly in retirement homes, and at antigen mobile sampling points. The Health Minister also called on people to self-quarantine for a while before visiting their relatives. According to him, this is more effective than testing. "Testing can give people a false sense of certainty that they are negative, but the next day they could be positive," he said. In this context he also called on all employers who can do so to let their employees carry out their work from home.
