Slovakia is the only country that is allowing ski resorts and hotels to admit visitors only with negative COVID-19 test results, Transport Minister Andrej Dolezal (We Are Family nominee) posted on Facebook on Thursday. The responsibility for making sure that only people with negative tests are allowed in ski lifts falls to individual ski resorts, wrote Dolezal, expressing the hope that tourism aid will be distributed as early as by the end of this year.
"We're the only country that allows ski resorts and hotels to open only with tests, the others espouse a more black-and-white approach - either open or closed, but not open with tests," reads the text. As for the aid scheme for tourism, Dolezal reported that preparations are in the final stage and have been greenlighted by the Anti-monopoly Office. He added that the ministry is thus able to grant up to €200,000 per applicant.
