Austria and Hungary keep their status for travellers

Hungary and Austria will remain on the list of less risky countries in terms of COVID-19, Chief Hygienist Ján Mikas stated after a session of the Central Crisis Committee team on Monday. He pointed out that Hungary and Austria are facing similar problems with the outbreak as Slovakia. Therefore, shutting down borders would be neither efficient nor appropriate, said Mikas, pointing out that most cases of COVID-19 illness are contracted at mass participation events, various business events and weddings. The Vatican, San Marino and Taiwan will be added to the list of "safe" countries as of October. It means there will be no restrictions for travellers coming from these countries to Slovakia.
