Schools received €66 mil to fight with corona’s impacts

The Education, Science, Research and Sport Ministry has so far sent €66 million to schools in connection with the COVID-19 outbreak. According to Education Minister Branislav Groehling, a total of €29 million has been paid for paying the salaries of nursery school employees. Funds have also been sent to schools to provide disinfection, disinfectants and to cover other expenditures in connection with hygiene and epidemiological measures. "We have sent €9 million to primary schools. The Finance Ministry approved the transfer of €8.5 million, and €552,000 came from the budget of the Education Ministry," said Groehling. A further €7.5 million has gone to secondary schools for the same purpose. The Education Ministry has sent €19.8 million to universities. "In addition, we sent €375,000 to schools before the summer for printing materials and worksheets for students without the internet, and we're preparing a similar package for the same thing at the moment," said the head of the Education Ministry.
