Having thoroughly analysed fresh data from a city epidemiologist and other experts, the city of Bratislava has changed the colour of its so-called COVID-19 traffic light to red, Bratislava spokeswoman Katarina Rajcanova announced on Tuesday. Red signifies that the epidemic situation in the capital is serious. The municipality is therefore triggering preventive measures that come under its powers. It has decided to fully restrict visits in four retirement homes (Gerium, Archa, Petržalský domov seniorov, Domov jesene života) and to restrict visits in patient departments in three other retirement homes (Domov pri kríži, Domov seniorov Lamač, Dom tretieho veku). It has also decided to temporarily cancel indoor activities with high risk of coronavirus infection taking place in retirement and social care facilities (masses, celebrations, meetings, courses, etc.)
The city authorities are preparing testing for its key employees and have launched preparations for a quarantine facility for homeless people. Meanwhile, the city's field team will intensify its support for social services.
