No opening of borders for now

At this moment Slovakia isn't considering opening its borders as part of relaxing the coronavirus lockdown, said the country's chief hygienist Jan Mikas on Tuesday. According to him, it may be only in the final phase of the lockdown exit strategy that the borders are opened. Slovakia's border policies will also heavily depend on the situation in other European countries, with the opening of borders at this moment posing too many risks, added Mikas. The current phase of the lockdown exit strategy as mapped out by Prime Minister Igor Matovic will be in place for two weeks starting on Wednesday, if the situation with the coronavirus outbreak doesn't deteriorate - possibly even longer.
