The priority shopping hours for the elderly will be shortened by an hour to take place between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and will be in effect only during working days, Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) stated on Monday after meeting with a team of experts. He added that the Government should also draw up a programme of meal tickets for pensioners. These would allow them to remotely buy food at restaurants. The meals would be delivered by taxi drivers, who have been prohibited from working up to this point. Shopkeepers earlier in the day had complained that the three-hour priority shopping hours for the elderly currently in place are too long, as they cause problems for other shoppers, especially on Saturdays.
