The elevated degree of alert announced by the former government for hospitals a month ago in response to the coronavirus outbreak will be expanded to include doctors outside hospitals, including general practitioners, as of this Saturday, the government decided on Thursday. The move means that the authorities will be able to impose 'labour duty' on doctors, who at the same time will be forbidden to go on strike.
