As of Monday noon, the presence of coronavirus has not been confirmed in Slovakia. The laboratory results of samples taken from two men who had recently returned from China and were admitted to hospital in the central Slovak town of Martin have been shown to be negative.
On Sunday evening, a person suspected of having contracted the coronavirus was admitted to the military hospital in Ružomberok, Žilina region. The hospital spokesperson Petra Dišková told media that more information would be provided later.
Moreover, two Slovaks who were evacuated from the Chinese city of Wu han arrived at Banská Bystrica Roosevelt Hospital where they were tested for being infected with the virus. They were a part of a group of 250 people from 30 countries transported from Wu han on a French charter plane, which landed in Paris and continued to Brussels on Sunday afternoon. There, five Czechs and the two Slovaks boarded a Czech government aircraft which carried them to Prague. The plane landed away from the terminals used by regular flights, so the airport was able to operate as normal. The Slovaks were subsequently transferred to Banská Bystrica by ambulance.
