A third of Slovaks would consider a job change within the next three months, according to a survey done by the recruitment agency Manuvia. Mainly young people or those with elementary education would consider taking such a step. The latter group often works in positions that are nowadays hard to fill. More than one-quarter of employees consider at least a €100 pay rise as interesting enough to change companies. Up to two-thirds would require a salary higher by €200 and more.
According to the agency's CEO Peter Dosedla, recruiters should be prepared to significantly raise the wages upon offering positions to new employees. Furthermore, if they want to keep their current workers, they should focus on their comfort. "Employees nowadays pay more attention than ever before to what benefits the employers provide and what working conditions they find themselves in," he added.
Half of Slovaks are okay with the eight-hour working day five days a week while almost one-third would appreciate a flexible working regime, where the amount of work to be done would replace working hours. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,050 employees in the spring of 2019 through the on-line data collector Instant Research.
