The most trustworthy politician in Slovakia is outgoing President Andrej Kiska, indicates a poll conducted on behalf of TA3 television by the AKO agency. On the other hand, the most untrustworthy one is former Prime Minister Robert Fico, who is also chair of the largest governing Smer-SD party.
Kiska enjoyed the trust of 57% of respondents, followed closely by incumbent Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini (Smer-SD) with 52%. The third politician in the ranking was Igor Matovič, chair of the Ordinary People party (OĽaNO) with 36%. Fourth came Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) chair Richard Sulík with 35% and Most-Híd leader Béla Bugár, who earned the trust of 34% of respondents.
Former PM Fico is considered untrustworthy by 79% of respondents. Thus, he also fell below Marian Kotleba, leader of the far-right People's Party Our Slovakia (ĽSNS) with 76%. The third least trusted according to the poll with 73% is Andrej Danko, chair of the Slovak National Party. Béla Bugár was in fourth place with 64%, followed by Boris Kollár, leader of the We Are Family party with 62%.
The poll was carried out on March 27-28 on a representative sample of 1,000 respondents.
